HOW MICROSUCTION WORKS
At Hearing England, we offer Micro Suction Ear Wax Removal in the comfort of your own home.
It’s a safe, quick, clean, convenient and effective way of removing excess wax and improving your hearing.
Micro suction is a procedure which uses gentle suction to remove excessive or troublesome ear wax or debris from the ear canal. Micro suction ear wax removal is performed with the aid of an operating microscope and a finely calibrated suction device. No materials or liquids are introduced to the ear during the procedure. In most ear wax removal centres, ear wax removal is undertaken by ear irrigation, which involves injecting a jet of water into the ear to help dislodge the wax. Ear irrigation is is sometimes not effective and some patients may find it uncomfortable or unpleasant. Micro suction is usually well tolerated by most people, it delivers excellent and instant results and tends to be much more effective than any of the traditional wax removal methods. It is also completely safe, as the professional can clearly see what he or she is doing inside your ear canal. Pre-treatment with olive oil drops: If a patient has never had Micro suction before or had it more than 3 years ago, pre-treatment for 5-7 days prior to the appointment is recommended. For patients who have had micro suction within the last 3 years, pre treatment with olive oil drops for 3 days prior to the appointment is recommended.
– SAFE
Micro suction is the preferred method of treatment for both medical professionals and patients alike. It delivers guaranteed effective and safe removal of earwax.

Only qualified and experienced Audiologists with additional training in Aural Micro suction Earwax Removal, or our Audiology nurses, are qualified to offer micro suction earwax removal services. So you can be sure you are receiving the best care available.

“Just had micro suction treatment. It was pain free and my ears feel great!! Super professional people and great service. Many thanks”
- Chris Guts Griffiths
“Here is my story! I had been completely deaf in my left ear for 3 months and the doctors kept telling me it was an inner ear infection and that it would take months to go, hence no doctor would examine my ear! Eventually last week, a doctor DID actually look in my ear and said it was full of wax, so she could not see the ear drum! I came home and searched online to see what my options were – it was then that I found Hearing England. I messaged them over the weekend and they replied straight away, booking me in for Monday 11th April at 9.30am. They were VERY prompt dealing with my enquiry so quickly, especially as it was out of hours and booking me in straight away! Ben was brilliant! He was professional and compassionate and after examining BOTH ears, he explained the procedure in detail and he suctioned them both out and I was cured immediately!! I was so happy to finally get my hearing back and I would go so far as to say, I now have my life back too!! I can’t thank the whole team enough – they were all great!!”

THE PROBLEM WITH EARWAX..
Hearing Aid Users can sometimes suffer from a build up of Ear Wax, and without the proper treatment, it may prevent the wearer from getting the most from the hearing system.
At HEARING ENGLAND, it makes sense to us to offer both the provision of Hearing Aids and Ear Wax Removal all under the one roof!
Ear wax is a normal, healthy substance that helps to protect our ears from infection. It usually breaks down naturally and falls out of the ears in tiny flakes. If you wear a hearing aid, or have a narrow or curving ear canal, the wax may build up in your ear, causing discomfort, a sensation of fullness or some loss of hearing and you may not get the best results from your hearing aid.
Earwax has antibacterial properties and is slightly acidic. Without it, the skin inside your ear would become dry, cracked, infected or waterlogged and sore. The amount of earwax made changes from person to person. Some people are prone to forming plugs of earwax in their canal which can cause a feeling of fullness and dull hearing. Thicker plugs of wax can also cause tinnitus or mild types of dizziness (vertigo).
To reduce your risk of developing earwax problems, avoid putting objects into your ears, such as cotton buds, hairpins and matchsticks. As well as possibly damaging your ear eardrum or canal, putting things in your ears can also cause the wax to become lodged in your ear canal.

The ‘Full Shell’ is the largest of the in the ear hearing aids and is custom made to fit in the outer ear. This design offers many advantages for people with a more severe hearing loss, including volume controls and powerful amplification.
Completely in the Canal (CIC) aids can offer a discrete and practically invisible style, well suited for those looking for an aid with cosmetic appeal. Hearing quality is not compromised by the small size, as the microphone sits within the canal offering a natural sound comparable to regular hearing.
Technology in the field of Completely in Canal (CIC) hearing aids has been rapidly evolving for over 20 years. Recently, the frontier for total invisibility of hearing aids has been extended even further with manufacturers being able to create an Invisible-in-Canal (IIC) hearing aid. IIC’s can sit much deeper in the ear canal than ever before.
